Before setting out to partner with clients, Orca performs a current state analysis of the clients’ business workflows to understand the processes, data sources and information involved. Getting intimate with clients’ business processes allows the Orca team to customize their system and pull the relevant and necessary data for their clients into their interactive supply chain reporting, thereby providing a clear picture for input into their day-to-day decision making. Unlike contemporary freight audit solution providers, their customer-centric approach has been unique. “Customer experience is one of the most important things for us and we treat each person in our client’s organization as an individual customer,” mentions Matt. Part of their analysis includes interviews with every single stakeholder in the clients’ internal supply chain, logistics, transportation, and finance teams.

This enables Orca to gain an edge over competitors, deliver an exclusive solution and continuously is customized throughout the client contract and showcases one of Orca’s core objectives: to truly understand the problems their clients are trying to solve, to serve their customization needs.

The system was built to understand and learn the logic of the complex transportation rules and processes every customer has. Marco adds, “We’re adding extra layers to the process every day and making it more of a customized business reporting tool, rather than a generic freight auditing system. What we are moving towards is automating more and more of the transportation and finance divisions’ tasks (i.e. data collection and analysis, logistics scenario modelling, auditing for payables, invoicing for receivables). By taking on more of a process automation role for our clients, we gain intimacy, which leads to trust, and ultimately what we are after is becoming a fully integrated and trusted partner for each client. ”

As stated in 2019, for the two Grossi brothers, it doesn’t seem like its money they are after, it truly seems like they are passionate enough to prioritize change in an industry that has needed it for so long. “We need to change the limited way everyone looks at supply chain analytics. There is so much lost data within every supply chain, and nobody has really focused on sifting through all the potential data connections available and harnessing them to create powerful daily insights that help all parts of an organization. What we are after here, is collecting all the data we can, not only from our client’s systems, but their warehouses, distribution centres, and any other external service provider and custom build a system that improves the speed to decisions in a way that makes each senior executives feel confident about their supply chain decisions,” mentions Matt.

Orca is extremely optimistic about their future as they work to leverage their vast experience and continue to further develop the software to create new powerful technology solutions. Marco leaves us with this statement. “It took us 4 years to have leaders in the supply chain industry recognize us as a top provider. We really haven’t even got started. And I can’t give much detail about what we are working on, but it’s really going to drop jaws when we finish our 2021 project,” says Marco.
